I am creating a public artwork which contribute a sense of fun and play to the Overlake Village Plaza at the new light rail station connection downtown Seattle with the Microsoft Campus through a competitive process. I have designed 13 organic, fluid concrete benches that conveying more movement and softer lines to integrated with a surrounding landscape. I have explored new technologies and materials including 3D scanning, CNC cutting and GFRC (glass fibre reinforced concrete) for its sustainability, durability and solidity. Completion is targeted for March 2023.
